Here’s the draw for the World Cup play-offs

Okay, we’re not there but at least you can enjoy watching France struggle against Ukraine plus Zlatan v Ronaldo.

Ah, the seeded World Cup play-off draw, we knew you well. Four years ago we were pitched in with France leading to THAT game in Paris and THAT handball.

Four years on and France were back in the play-offs, and this time they are the ones not seeded, meaning they were set to face one of the top seeds; Croatia, Greece, Ukraine or Portugal. And, lo and behold, they were pulled out to face Ukraine, who didn’t look that good in England’s group, but it could be tricky enough.

Our group friends Sweden were also in the draw and they managed to get Portugal, pitting Zlatan and Ronaldo against each other, which should be fun, but it also means that one of those greats won’t be in Brazil next year.

The team we should all be backing to make it, tiny Iceland, will have to beat Croatia to become the smallest country, population wise, to reach a World Cup finals and in the final match, Romania play Greece.

The games will be played on November 15 and 19, with the away goals rule in full effect.
