Gorse fires rage over the town of Cahersiveen in Kerry in this amazing shot of the night sky in flames.

A stunning picture of the gorse fires in the hills above Cahersiveen in Kerry shows the water below reflecting the incredible scenes above, as the fires rage and mix with the night sky.

It's an almost apocalyptic view with the brightness of the fire contrsasting the dark of the night sky, making for a truly beautiful shot.

Thanks to Anthony Riordan for letting us use the picture, who had been out all day shooting but went back again to get this brilliant snap, which we're sure you'll agree was worth the effort. You can check out a few more of his pictures on his Facebook page.
