Thankfully authorities in the northwestern state of Punjab have intervened after the man allegedly kidnapped his daughter Noori’s son from the hospital shortly after he was born earlier this month before telling his daughter the child had died.

The despicable 47 year-old, with the help of two temporary employees at the hospital where his daughter gave birth, managed to sneak the child out of the hospital. According to Punjab Newsline, the man arranged a deal on Facebook to sell the baby for 45,000 rupees, roughly €630.

Police acted upon a formal complaint of the mother who alleged that her child was stolen from the nursing home and police managed to trace the infant’s whereabouts on Facebook, tracking down the home of the buyer.

Four people have been arrested, including the grandfather for their parts in the disgraceful act.
