It’s not just any old player who reaches 500 appearances for Barcelona as Andres Iniesta will tonight and he’s racked up some serious stats in his career with the Catalan giants to date.

Providing he starts the second leg of the Champions League quarter-final clash with Atletico Madrid – and we’d be shocked if he doesn’t – the little genius will make his 500th appearance in Barcelona colours tonight, 12 years after making his first-team debut as an 18-year old.

To mark the occasion, Barcelona published a special Iniesta infographic on their website detailing his achievements with the club to date.

It includes, for example, his six league titles and three Champions League victories and also the amount of appearances made and goals scored in each of his 12 seasons with Barca to date alongside a picture of Iniesta from each season; it’s quite evident that he has been lost a little bit more hair but also become a little less pale with every passing year.

He might have played 499 games but Iniesta doesn’t turn 30 until later this year and he has showed absolutely no sign of decline just yet. It might be asking a lot for him to reach 1,000 career appearances for the one club he’s ever played for but he’s sure as hell not going anywhere for a few years yet.

What a player.
