Irish Exclusive: New Total Recall footage reveals the secrets of creating a hover car chase

It's one of the biggest blockbusters of the year and though it seems crazy to follow in the footsteps of Arnold Schwarzenegger, this Total Recall featurette shows Colin Farrell is up to the job.

Underworld series director (and extremely lucky husband of Beckinsale) Len Wiseman is the man behind the new Total Recall and is planning what he describes as a vastly different take on the original source material, classic Philip K Dick story We Can Remember It for You Wholesale.

Don't worry though; it's already been confirmed that there's still going to be a three-breasted lady in there somewhere.

“There are hover-car chases, amazing fight sequences, wild explosions - literally one thing after another," says Farrell's co-star Jessica Biel and you can see the two in the stunning hover car sequence in the above featurette.

Rather than overload the screen with CGI, director Wiseman instead insisted on actual physical vehicles, where Farrell would be seated in a hover car above another vehicle - later deleted via computer trickery - that was driven by a stunt driver. The result is seamless and boasts the kind of physical reaction necessary from the actors and hopefully, the audience too.
