One of football’s greatest mistakes, the current Barcelona away shirt, looks to be on the way out. Is this alleged replacement any less ugly?
The highlight of the week in football was surely Dani Alves’ miracle pass to Lionel Messi, whose finish for Barca’s first goal against PSG wasn’t bad either.
And while Alves’ barnet was almost bad enough to take the sheen off the skill, his garish shirt didn’t help either (above).
We’re well aware of Barcelona’s desire to represent Catalonia and the orange and yellow is an important combo of colours for them because of that flag. From what we can gather the current shirt is meant to represent a Catalan sunset too but it is just hideous and for the best team in the world to wear the ugliest kit in the world is simply wrong.
So when we heard from 101greatgoals that a new Barca away kit had leaked we were looking forward to seeing it. It couldn’t be any worse, right?
Well, it’s not worse but is this much better?

As always it is only a rumour at this point and we can’t see the front so who knows what that will look like. An improvement then, but only a marginal one.
