Despite the best efforts of ‘Arry ‘Houdini Wheeler Dealer’ Redknapp, there’s at least one Queens Park Rangers player that’s sure they’re going down this season: Joey Barton.

The opinionated midfielder has been going on a bit of a rant on Twitter about a range of things, from Mark Hughes to where his future lies, and he was happy to give as much info as possible.

It all started when he said he’d done a photoshoot for the new Marseille kit, and a troll responded to say that he wouldn’t be wearing it in the Championship next season.

Barton responded that he wouldn’t be going back to QPR, and there was one man to thank for that, namely Mark Hughes.

He seems pretty happy in Marseille, saying that the club is “now in my blood”, and adding that it wasn’t just the moment of madness in the last game of the season against Manchester City that spelled the end for him at Loftus Road.

He was also pretty unhappy about how he was treated when he was leaving the club, as he felt he was forced out, and had an opinion on that too.

He added that he’d like for QPR to stay up but he thinks it’s unlikely, and it’s not their decision whether or not to take him back. He certainly doubts he’ll be back, but reminds us not to get too wound up with what he’s saying, after all “it’s only a game of football”.
