The ultimate wind-up merchant was at it again last night, with Joey Barton still sticking firmly to his guns that Neymar is not the real deal.
The Brazilian striker has been in sensational form for the host country at the Confederations Cup, scoring a brilliant free-kick in last night’s 4-2 win over Italy to add to his tally, but it seems it isn’t enough to dispel the QPR man’s reservations over the £50 million striker.
Barton famously called Neymar “nothing more than a YouTube player” who is highly over-rated, also describing him as “cat piss”.
Neymar, unlike most on Twitter, did not take the bait and has let most of his talking on the pitch and is beginning to make the money spent by the Catalans look like a bargain.
Well to most observers bar the English midfielder, who let us know last night that he will admit if he proves to be wrong, but doesn’t see it yet.
Gone out for dinner. Heard Neymar has scored a goal. Its only the confederations cup people against Italy reserves. Chill the f*ck out…

If he ends up making me eat my own words, so be it. I’ll be the first to admit it. Until then my friends, the jury is still firmly out…
