Refusing to talk about his future and having another dig to Iker Casillas, the Special One was entertaining as ever today.
He was cut off on Tuesday night by ITV but in his pre-match press conference today, Jose Mourinho was able to speak as much, or as little, as he wanted.
Obviously the game against Real Valladolid was largely ignored as questions about his future dominated. And despite lots of the English press reporting that a return to Chelsea was a done deal today, Jose was being more coy, as he probably has to be at this stage.
“It’s not worth talking about if I go or not,” he said. “If I go, I will not give explanations.
“I’m working with total professionalism and I still have the same honour and pleasure to work for this club as I did a month or two ago.
“I have not taken the decision yet. First to know will be my wife and my children. Then the president (Florentino Perez) and director general (Jose Angel Sanchez).
“We will speak about the future after the end of the season. I have a Copa del Rey final and La Liga matches to play.”
Sounds like he is out the door to us. And while Jose also spoke about how he improved the Champions League performance of the club and that he was happy to break the Barcelona La Liga dominance in his time there, meaning he certainly sounds like a man buffering up his CV, his best line was reserved for Iker Casillas.
Asked if he had any regrets from his time Jose replied, ‘Yes, I would have signed Diego Lopez a year earlier’. That’s Iker put in his place. Again.
