Legendary Irish Explorer Wanted

This week, Irish explorers-in-the-making, with a sense of adventure, and of a decidedly spontaneous bent, are invited to apply to be ‘Dropped’ on the ultimate global adventure. So make sure to get down to South William Street this weekend for your chance to win the adventure of a lifetime.

There’s been a series of mysterious happenings taking place around Dublin’s city centre this week … authentic Bangkok Tuc Tucs rattling around Dawson Street , a floating oriental lantern display had the crew on the canal at the Barge feeling like they were hanging out on the banks of the Mekong ..  The weather helped.   This morning three levitating dudes were floating around the Luas.  Has the weather taken a hold of us all?  What is this sorcery you may ask?

This week, The “Dropped” Embassy opens its doors, and it’s the Embassy where all is not what it seems… This lot are just a taste of type of goings on that are expected there this weekend when Heineken open their search for a Legendary Irish Explorer.   Irish explorers-in-the-making, with a sense of adventure, and of a decidedly spontaneous bent, are invited to apply to be ‘Dropped’ on the ultimate global adventure. So make sure to get down to South William Street this weekend for your chance to win the adventure of a lifetime.

The winning applicant will find themselves in a mystery location somewhere across the globe with a plane ticket and one week to find their way home. Their adventure will be filmed as part of a global YouTube series. The road ahead is uncertain, but one thing is clear: the winner will never look at life in the same way again!

So what will happen to the lucky explorer who’s dropped into the middle of… eh, somewhere? Well, challenges lie in wait at every corner; possible tasks could include tornado chasing, lava surfing, dealing with extreme heat or cold, surviving monsoons and wrestling with unwanted travel companions.

They may also be asked to find roads, build bridges, fix engines, befriend big animals or race small animals.  They may have their luggage removed and their sanity tested.

To throw your (Indiana Jones) hat in the ring, prospective adventurers of all types are invited to an open casting at the specially created “Dropped” Embassy in Dublin’s city centre, where casting will take place over two days this weekend – Friday 12th and Saturday 13th July (6pm – midnight).

At the Dropped Embassy, candidates will be put through a series of challenges to test their wit and resourcefulness, but beware; at the Embassy, anything can happen.

A select group will go on to compete in a further challenge at a mystery Irish location in the coming weeks, but there will only be one winner…If you can’t make it down to South William Street on Friday or Saturday, you can always submit a brief video, showing their take on a legendary journey to [email protected]. For more info on the Dropped campaign check out www.droppedireland.ie.
