Next up in our Love Your County series is the Dubs, All-Ireland winners two years ago and nearly always the biggest deal in the GAA, win, lose or draw.

Sporting moment: Stephen Cluxton’s winning point, 2011 All-Ireland Final

Definitely the first, and almost certainly the last instance of a goalkeeper scoring the winning point in an All-Ireland Final, Stephen Cluxton’s winning kick in Dublin’s victory over Kerry in the 2011 All-Ireland Final couldn’t have been any more dramatic.

In normal circumstances, it wouldn’t have even been a gimme for the incredibly accurate Dublin netminder, but given the pressure he was under, it was an extraordinarily difficult kick. No bother to the cool Cluxton, who kept his nerve, the Hill erupted and the Dubs laid their hands on Sam for the first time in 16 years.

Up there with the 1982 Offaly victory over Kerry as the most unbelievable conclusion to an All-Ireland Final ever.

Visit… the Guinness Storehouse

A predictable choice maybe, but just because it’s one of the most popular spots in the capital doesn’t mean it isn’t worth a visit… and we don’t just mean for Aran-jumper wearing tourists keen to sample the black stuff and tick another box on the list of Irish experiences.

Swat up on the history of the world’s most famous stout, learn all about the brewing process and finish off the tour in style with a creamy pint and some breathtaking views of the city from the Gravity Bar.

Check out… the Croke Park skyline tour

It’s bordering on a travesty for any Irish person not to have visited, or attended a game in, Croke Park, but even regulars to the Drumcondra venue will appreciate the recently opened rooftop tour of one of the most impressive stadiums in Europe, while the views of Dublin on a fine day are up there with any vantage point throughout the city.
