Manchester United did the necessary to send the title race to the final day, winning 1-0 at Sunderland courtesy of Nani’s exquisite first half finish.
Elsewhere, Manchester City came from behind to overcome Aston Villa on Saturday, keeping City’s Champions League hopes alive and ending those of Aston Villa, while a ball-boy found himself at the centre of attention at White Hart Lane as Spurs claimed a 1-0 win over Bolton which kept Harry Redknapp’s side in fourth place.
The battle for that final place in next season’s Champions League could be decided on Wednesday night, when Spurs host Man City. Just one point separates the sides going into that game.
