In one of the more bizarre footballing stories of the week, it seems that the folks at Werder Bremen have banned xylophones from their stadium.

Eintracht Frankfrut fans will have to make do without their xylophones this weekend for their away match against Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga.
Bremen, who are struggling, listed xylophones, which had been requested by the supporters group, as a forbidden item
According to ESPN, the usual process is for away fans to gather their requests for what they want to bring to the match and make a list, which they then give to security at the ground in advance of the game.
It seems that there is a practical reason behind the ban, as they wanted to bring a rather large concert xylophone, and were there to be any incident, it may block the emergency exits from the ground.
Looking to strike the right note with the fans however, the Frankfurt fan liaison officer released a statement explaining why the instrument had been banned, and the Bremen security officer added that in all his 20 years on the job he’d never heard of anyone trying to bring a xylophone in.
We’re not sure whether they would be allowed to bring a regular sized xylophone in, this seems to have been an issue of scales (sorry).
