No space for Messi in the Uefa users' Team of the Year
Over 6 million users of Uefa.com have spoken, and they don't think Messi is any good apparently
Well, that might be a slight exaggeration but the Argentine didn't make the cut for this year's Team of 2013, as voted for by users of Uefa.com.
In total they received 6,310,237 votes, the majority of which came from Europe, and have come up with a team that is composed of plenty of players from Bayern Munich and Real Madrid, as well as a few of Paris Saint Germain's biggest names.
The team is as follows: Manuel Neuer, Phillip Lahm, Thiago Silva, Sergio Ramos, David Alaba, Gareth Bale, Marco Reus, Mesut Ozil, Franck Ribery, Cristiano Ronaldo and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
His injuries definitely hampered him in 2013, but we still think he's probably worth putting in your team. Then again, he's never proved that he could do it on a wet, windy Tuesday night at Stoke...
