There’s a simple rule to follow in our book when thinking about style – wear the clothes don’t let the clothes wear you. Some of the lads in The Arnotts King of Cool competition, while obviously acutely aware of the current “trends” were maybe a little too much so.

For us the most enviable style icons out there are the likes of David Gandy, George Clooney, Daniel Craig and Ryan Reynolds; men who rarely dress ostentatiously yet always look their absolute best. Granted, sometimes genetics have their part to play, but a substantial element of that “cool” factor is conveying a certain level of achievability.
There were some cracking entrants into the competition, but David (pictured above) was a clear winner – simply by owning what he wore better than anyone else and knowing what suited his frame.
Well done to David for his effortless look and well done to the vast majority of the entrants who genuinely impressed us. Enjoy that bottle of Jameson!
