Di Canio is definitely a passionate man, there’s no denying that, but his celebrations really showed what this derby means to him

The Tyne-Wear derby was always going to be a tense affair, and there were some pretty spicy tackles thrown around as well as some great goals.
The difference between the two teams in the first half was the goal by Stephan Sessegnon, whose low drive in to the corner beat Tim Kruhl.
Paolo Di Canio however, was perhaps happier than most Sunderland fans at this goal, and he showed how much this derby means to him with his joyous celebration.
Adam Johnson’s goal was also superb, a lovely curling shot beyond substitute goalkeeper Elliot, who had little chance of stopping it.
However, the headlines may be stolen by the sliding celebration of overjoyed manager Paolo Di Canio.
He may well have just seen his team somehow grab a lifeline in the battle for survival, so no surprise that he’s pretty happy with the whole thing.
David Vaughan topped off the day with a brilliant third goal that his manger was also pretty happy about.
