It’s been a long time coming for one of the most vocal people on Twitter, as Joey Barton looks like he might be in some hot water for his comments

Joey Barton has often taken to Twitter to voice his latest musings, most of the time without giving a second thought to whoever he offends.
However it looks like he’s going to have to change his ways after a serious dressing down from the head honchos at PSG, who issued a statement on their website threatening legal action after his latest outburst.
On Tuesday, Barton, who’s on loan at Marseille in France, was on Twitter saying that he thought PSG’s centre back Thiago Silva was overrated, and that he looked like an “overweight ladyboy”. That wasn’t what got him in trouble however, as he continued his abuse of the Brazilian today, after Silva was asked about Barton’s comments on Twitter.
When Silva said that he didn’t particularly care and that he didn’t even remember Barton’s name, the spiky Englishman responded by calling him a transsexual, amongst other insults.
PSG’s statement said that this went beyond the bounds of mere verbal jousting, and they reserved the right to take any action necessary as a result of these comments.
Given the amount of trouble he gets in, Barton probably has his lawyer on speed dial, and he’ll certainly be pretty busy cleaning up this latest mess over the next few days.
