There was much hype about RVP’s return to his old stomping ground at the weekend with both sets of supporters getting involved.

For the Arsenal faithful it was painful to see their former hero return with not only a Premier League medal in his back-pocket, but also being afforded a guard of honour along with his teammates.

While the Dutchman had a quiet game by his standards this season, he did pounce on a mistake by Bacary Sagna that resulted in a penalty which he duly dispatched with a muted celebration.

The crowd at the Emirates were keen to let van Persie know what they felt of his decision to join their rivals, both with a chorus of boos and some choice banners.

Some United followers were second-guessing what the home supporters would have in store for the striker – hardly rocket science – so came armed with a response of their own.
