It’s an easy mistake to make in fairness.
Manchester United fans have been ridiculously excited about the arrival of Juan Mata in the last few days but imagine the horror of those who turned on ITV News this evening to find that the Red Devils had instead signed a 71-year old whose best days were back in the 60s and 70s.

It was, of course, merely a graphics error and one that was probably fairly easily made considering that McCartney has been featured fairly heavily in the news today on the back of his appearance at the Grammys last night.
Besides, of all people to be mixed up with, Mata probably wouldn’t mind being mistaken for one of the most famous musicians in the history of music so no doubt he’ll just let it be and focus on trying to help his new club on the long and winding road towards ensuring their place in the Champions League next season.
