Aston Villa’s first home win of the season came in a highly unlikely victory over Manchester City on Saturday and we witnessed one very happy Meath man in Villa Park.
Andreas Weimann was the hero as Paul Lambert saw his side condemn City to their second Premier League defeat of the season, coming just a week after their emphatic win over neighbours United in the Manchester derby.
The 3-2 victory sent the home fans delirious, with one jubilant Irish fan in particular standing out form the crowd during Weimann’s celebration. The man, who we will presume is from the Royal County, was seen showing off the Meath colours in the midst of the celebrations.
