It’s just like watching Barcelona… in more ways than one.
Judging by the state of play in European football over the last year or so, it would seem that Bayern Munich have assumed Barcelona’s mantle as the top dogs on the continent at the moment.
If beating them 7-0 over two legs in last season’s Champions League semi-final and appointing former Barca boss Pep Guardiola as their manager wasn’t bad enough, the Bavarians have seemingly decided to really rub their new status in Barca’s face by assuming their club colours for their new home shirt.
The red and blue shirt, which, in fairness, has different shades of those colours from the Barcelona home shirt, is just a rumour at this stage having appeared on the footyheadlines.com website recently and we should know if it is in fact the real deal before too long.
On first glance it looks pretty nice to us and as long as they avoid the temptation to follow in Barca’s footsteps with some of the Fruit-Salad inspired away jerseys of recent years, we reckon Bayern fans will be happy enough.
