Pic: UPC’s description of The Sunday Game Live this weekend is interesting to say the least

Numerous programmes have suffered at the hands of bizarre descriptions on Sky, UPC and other set-top boxes over the years and The Sunday Game Live is the latest victim.

Numerous programmes have suffered at the hands of bizarre descriptions on Sky, UPC and other set-top boxes over the years and The Sunday Game Live is the latest victim.

With live coverage of Fermanagh v Cavan followed by Mayo v Roscommon on Sunday afternoon, there will be plenty of entertainment for GAA fans on The Sunday Game Live this weekend, but anyone checking what’s in store on their UPC box may have come in for something of a strange surprise.

The screenshot below of what we think is a UPC box (feel free to correct us if we’re wrong) was sent into us overnight and although some observers wouldn’t argue with the description of Spillane, Brolly and company as ‘friendly monsters’, it would take a great flight of the imagination to believe that there will be any rescuing of model spaceships in Brewster Park or McHale Park this weekend.

Mind you, given the bizarre metaphors that have been spouted by some of The Sunday Game crew already this year, we wouldn’t be surprised if one of them manages to shoehorn an extra-terrestrial reference in at some stage on Sunday afternoon.
