In what was a lovely gesture by the folks over at the Beeb, the late Páidí Ó Sé was remembered in a moving tribute at the Sports Personality of the Year awards last night.
The GAA community was rocked by the death of the Kerry legend on Saturday morning, as people in Ireland and abroad struggled to come to terms with the loss of one of the most recognisable characters in the game.
Páidí’s stature both in the GAA and beyond was brought home to roost when he was featured in a moving montage paying tribute to the sporting characters who lost their lives in 2012 during the ceremony ay the Excel Arena last night.
