Picture: Nando’s didn’t take long to come up with a brilliant Fergie-related PR stunt

We can expect a lot of Alex Ferguson related PR stunts in the coming days but we have to admit that we got a good laugh out of this one from a Nando’s restaurant in Manchester this afternoon.

We can expect a lot of Alex Ferguson related PR stunts in the coming days but we have to admit that we got a good laugh out of this one from a Nando’s restaurant in Manchester this afternoon.

While football fans attempt to come to terms with the huge news surrounding Alex Ferguson’s impending retirement, you can guarantee that a hell of a lot of companies are attempting to capitalise on the situation by coming up with a Fergie-related PR stunt to help drive attention (and profits, of course) to their brand.

Shameless exploitation that may be, but if they’re good enough and funny enough we’re more than happy to give them some exposure and a stunt from a Nando’s branch in Manchester this afternoon is definitely worthy of that.

The restaurant in the Trafford Centre normally closes at 11pm, but is remaining open for five extra minutes this evening and you’ll see from the hashtag in the picture below exactly why.

Nice work Nando’s.
