Footballers are no strangers to going for unusual ink jobs, from Leo Messi getting his son’s handprint on his calf, to Daniel Agger proclaiming his love for Liverpool to his defensive partner Martin Skrtel even dabbling as a tattoo artist himself.
QPR striker Jay Bothroyd has also gone for something a little different, spelling out the letters through different forms of weaponry, adding “you have to fight for love…. More than anything it’s artistic” along with the picture.
Every man to his own
The picture was quickly taken down from his Instagram account but the ‘hit-man’ has received criticism in some quarters for the violent imagery.
Bothroyd did spend the earlier part of the season on loan with Sheffield Wednesday, but how QPR could have done with his on-field firepower in recent times.
