With the two clubs being so close to one another, the match between Sevilla and Real Betis is always a spicy derby, but last night saw a particular edge to the game.
Gary Medel, who’s a bit irritable at the best of times, got himself sent off last night, picking up his seventh red card in less than 90 matches for the club, a decent record.
He wasn’t sent off for the tackle, which was what you might call “committed”, but rather for the slap he gave Jose Canas afterwards.
It also seems that the occasion got to coach Pepe Mel, who turned to flip the finger at Sevilla fans, along with his striker Nosa Igiebor, who also got in on the action.

The football itself was exciting too, with Betis coming back from 3-0 down to draw 3-3 in the end, with Nosa grabbing a late, late goal which made the home fans go delirious with joy
With all that drama, we’ll be keeping our eye on La Liga games over the weekend to see if there’s any more doings a-transpiring.
