Reports in this weekend’s media are suggesting that Daniel Levy has placed a £100 million price-tag on Welsh star Gareth Bale.

A whole host of papers have said that the Spurs chairman has slapped what would be a world-record fee on the 23 year-old in an effort to fend off suitors this summer for a man who has been in sparkling form for most of the season.
Real Madrid are thought to have been keeping tabs on bale for quite a while, though there has also been growing speculation that Pep Guardiola is keen to bring Bale and Liverpool striker Luis Suarez to Bayern for next season.
Tottenham would be reluctant to sell their star even if they fail to qualify for the Champions League this season, but should they get an offer anywhere near what Levy is suggesting, then Spurs fans may well have to prepare for life without the Welsh wizard.
