Liverpool have reportedly jumped ahead of Manchester United in the race to sign Southampton’s Adam Lallana.

The attacking midfielder has been one of Southampton’s standout performers this season and Brendan Rodgers has been keeping a close on the 25-year-old.

Lallana is expected to go to the World Cup with England this summer and, according to the Sunday Mirror, Brendan Rodgers will offer him £50,000 and Champions League football in order to stave off interest from United.

The current Premier League champions, who sacked manager David Moyes last week, have been on both Lallana and his Saints team-mate Luke Shaw’s case for months now.
