Roy Keane’s account of why he didn’t sign Robbie Savage for Sunderland is bloody hilarious

His new book might actually be a comedy…

JOE hasn’t even even picked up a copy of Roy Keane’s new book The Second Half, despite trying to convince our local bookstore owner to sell us a copy by using our best our Keano glare, but that hasn’t stopped us from hearing stories and snippets of what’s in store.

We already told you about but his hilarious views on punditry work, John O’Shea nearly passing out from marking Cristiano Ronaldo and much more but this latest anecdote of Keane’s attempts to sign Robbie Savage from Blackburn Rovers, while the Corkman was manager of Sunderland, could be our favourite story yet.

Savage is the very definition of a Marmite footballer, we have a fair idea where most peoples opinions lie though, but we can’t stop laughing at Keane’s initial impression of the player after hearing his voicemail.

Oh Roy, don’t ever change.

Fair play to Savage though because he seems to have taken the news with good spirits.
