We always figured Roy Keane would be the last person who’d need his mum to fight his battles
Roy Keane might have been pretty good at giving his own reaction to the Fergie revelations on ITV last night, but it seems that his mum has still felt the need to weigh in on the whole thing too.
Marie was not pleased that Fergie detailed the final few months of Keane’s time at United and the deterioration of their relationship in his book, and according to the Irish Sun, said that he should say it to Roy’s face instead.
She claimed that the Keane family had always had a good relationship with Fergie, including the Scot sending get well wishes and gifts when both her and Mossie were ill, but they didn’t like the “nasty” way that he’d done things with his rant about Roy in his new autobiography.
Ferguson had always been pleasant to them so they had no reason to dislike him after their numerous meetings with the former Old Trafford boss, but that Keane’s family, including his wife and children, were the ones who would be truly hurt by these revelations.
We look forward to the next chapter, as it were, in this particular war of words, as we think this one might not quite be over yet.
