Who doesn’t love a good round of rumours about Apple’s next handset? According to the latest industry whispers, the handset is coming next month.
According to Beatweek Magazine, US retail giant Best Buy has apparently informed its employees that the next incarnation of the iPhone is coming the first week of October, with an expected unveiling that won't include a live audience for the first time. Instead, it's thought Apple may transmit the news in either an online event or a simple press release.
However, a leaked calender update for a Best Buy location points to an Apple Fixture installation to be installed on Friday, October 21. Either way, October appears to be the month when we can finally cast off our wretched, completely out-of-date iPhone 4 for good.
Since taking the unprecedented step of not releasing the latest iPhone iteration this summer, the rumour mill has gone into overdrive in recent months, wish whispers pointing towards a ‘teardrop’ design and release to coincide with the release of iOS 5 and their iCloud service this Autumn.
Either way, people appear to be going to extraordinary lengths to find out the latest on the iPhone 5, so we'll have to wait and see if some guy robs a prototype again.
