Shane Long has scored a goal that could have huge implications for West Brom’s opponents Wigan in the race for safety.

Ireland striker Shane Long has been back amongst the goals in recent weeks, and today was no exception as he grabbed another neat finish.
After a lovely ball through down the right hand side, a low drilled cross gives Long a simple chance and he doesn’t have to be asked twice to take it.
While both sides have gone on to score again since this goal went it, it could still have huge implications for Wigan, who are looking like they’re in real trouble having dodged the drop for the last few years and really need a win here today.
