The Ireland team to play England tomorrow night is in and there aren’t a whole lot of surprises in Giovanni Trapattoni’s starting-line-up.

Perhaps the biggest surprise is the inclusion of Stephen Kelly, who recently had a very public falling out with the Ireland manager, at left-full back, but apart from that it’s a decent looking XI that will be led by Shane Long and captain Robbie Keane up front.

Kelly features in a back four alongside Seamus Coleman, John O’Shea and the restored Sean St. Ledger, with Jonathan Walters and Aiden McGeady supplying width in a midfield that will be anchored by Glenn Whelan and James McCarthy, who will no doubt be watched by the many clubs clamouring for his signature in the summer.

Given that it’s an end of season friendly, albeit not your average end of season friendly, it’s a pretty decent looking Irish team and here’s hoping they give us something to shout about against the auld enemy tomorrow night.
