Southampton made absolute bits out of Sunderland at St. Mary’s on Saturday, completing a phenomenal 8-0 win.
It all started off with Santiago Vergini’s spectacular own goal and got worse.
Much, much worse.
Two from Graziano Pelle, an own goal from Liam Bridcutt and strikes from Sadio Mane, Dusan Tadic, Victor Wanyama and Jack Cork made it a miserable, miserable day for Gus Poyet’s side.

Brendan Rogers got the wrong Southampton players by the look of it

Who’d have thought Southampton would be even better this season than last? As the Saints…..

I’d suggest the Sunderland fans stop off on the way home to get a few beers for the journey. They’ll be needed after this.

In hindsight, United’s draw against Sunderland isn’t quite looking like the tough away point I’d fooled myself into thinking it was.

I put a few quid on less than 2.5 goals at Southampton-Sunderland. So that went well.

But Southampton had a clearout sale this summer…
