New magician comedy The Incredible Burt Wonderstone stars Steve Carrel, Steve Buscemi, Jim Carey, Olivia Wilde and James Gandolfini. Now that's a magical cast right there.
by Genna Patterson
We’re used to seeing Steve Carell embarrass himself for the sake of comedy, and in The Incredible Burt Wonderstone it seems he will out do himself. Featuring an array of jazzy outfits and mullet style hair dos, Carrel plays titular character Burt Wonderstone in this magic new comedy.
Carell was quite delighted with his hair-styles throughout the movie too. He told USA Today, "I never achieved mullet-ness in all of my years. It's pretty fantastic, isn't it? There is actually a multitude of scintillating looks that I rock in this movie, from the mullet to the lion's mane to a frosted coif."
Burt is a Las Vegas magician, and not doing too well. He joins back up with his old partner Anton Marvelton – played by the brilliant Steve Buscemi. Together they take on guerilla street magician Steve Gray – a long haired Jim Carrey.

The two competitive magicians take on more and more outrageous tasks as they try to win the crowds. Burt even attempts to spend days elevated above the Las Vegas Strip in a glass box.
Carrel said, “Filming that was more unnerving than I expected…the scariest part was that you could look straight down below you. (Buscemi) was at least as scared as I was. But we had fun."
The trick fails and Burt and Anton separate, leading Burt to the rock bottom of magician world – retirement community entertainment. But will they reunite?
Illusionist David Copperfield, was on board to help design an elaborate hangman body-switch trick for the movie, so expect great things.

Set for release in the USA on March 15 next year, but there is no set release date for Ireland yet.
