According to reports, Arsenal have been looking to bring in an experienced goalkeeper in the form of QPR’s Julio Cesar.

Having had a real dip in form whch saw him leave Inter Milan in the first place, he has regained form and caught the eye of a few clubs playing behind a defence that was truly awful and kept him extremely busy.

Harry Redknapp, who doesn’t do any of the deals, obviously, warned that Wenger would have to really splash the cash if he wanted the Brazilian. Obviously Cesar would be happy to get the move, as it would give him a great chance of making the World Cup squad for his home nation.

Speaking of Brazil, one of their legendary players, Bebeto, has a son called Mattheus, who has been impressing at home for Flamengo, but is on the radar for Juventus, who are rumoured to be close to a deal for the 18-year-old.

After a bad few weeks in the Champions League, the Spanish teams have taken a long hard look at themselves and decided to throw loads and loads of money at their problems.

Both Madrid and Barcelona are planning to overhaul their squads, but first Madrid need to find a manager, since it looks like Mourinho is on his way out of the Bernabeu. Both Ancelotti and Pellegrini are in the frame, with the latter also being linked with Barcelona.

And there’s a pretty long list of names that will follow “Mou” out the door: Higuain, Di Maria, Coentrao, Adan, Kaka, Essien Carvalho and Albiol look likely to leave, and one name they have been linked with is PSG midfielder Marco Veratti. Oh, and some fella called Gareth Bale. Never heard of him…

Further to that, it seems they’re also eyeing up Lewandowski, and Marca are reporting that Florentino Perez took the striker aside after they lost to Dortmund and made an offer of some sorts to him. We presume it inculded a big, fat cheque.

Barcelona are also chasing Lewandowski however, and have been given a deadline of the 15th of this month to sign him. Also one of the papers made this terrible photoshop of him in a Barca shirt.

Valdes, Villa and Alexis are on their way, and the Catalans hope to make €50 million from their sales, as well as adding another €50 million to their transfer kitty themselves. If our maths is correct, that gives them…€100 million to spend.

Hummels is on their list too, given they’re desperate for a defender, but Tito wants Thiago Silva as a first priority. He may need to put a few extra zeroes on his transfer kitty.

According to El Mundo Deportivo, it looks like both Reina and De Gea are on the Barcelona radar to replace the departing Valdes, as it seems they don’t trust Black Eyed Peas lookalike Pinto between the sticks.

Reina would sign for two years, but De Gea might be a more difficult contract to negotiate given how much United paid for him not so long ago. The Spanish paper is not ruling out a double swoop either, to get both keepers on board for the foreseeable future.

After becoming a roaring success at Manchester City in a transfer that made loads of sense, it looks like Scott Sinclair may well be prised away from the Etihad somehow. Sarcastic? Us? Never. Roberto Mancini has hinted that his future will probably not be in blue, and he is genuinely a good footballer, so we’ll wait to see where he ends up.

In news from home, Ireland Under-21 International Rhys Murphy is on the radar of Aberdeen. Currently over in Holland, he’s looking to the SPL side to get him back to Britain.
