The FAI confirm Noel King as caretaker Ireland manager
The FAI have tonight confirmed Noel King as the Ireland caretaker manager for the two remaining World Cup qualifiers against Germany and Kazakhstan.
The U-21 manager had been favoured to get the role, though Don Givens’ name had been also suggested with his previous experience in the role.

It also means the FAI will also have to ensure that a temporary replacement guides the U21s, who have a European U21 Championship qualifying double-header against Romania on the same days as the Germany and Kazakhstan games.
The FAI have remained tight-lipped over the successor to Giovanni Trapattoni on a full-time basis and while talk of Martin O’Neill has cooled somewhat in recent days, he still remains the favourite for the position.
Germany away, a handy start for King's short reign.
