The GAA is well represented at the Crucible today

It just wouldn’t be a major sporting event without the presence of a GAA jersey and the Crucible is no different today.

Barry Hawkins and Ronnie O’Sullivan have resumed the World Final today with The Rocket holding a 10-7 overnight lead. The four-time winner is heavily favoured to retain his title in Sheffield, but Hawkins has already put out highly fancied opponents on his run to the final and will not be overawed by his much vaunted opponent.

Both players may not be aware of it, but they are being watched by some patriotic GAA supporters in the crowd.

This picture shows a Kerry and Leitrim supporter side by side taking in the action at the Crucible and given the David v Goliath that is playing out in front of them on the baize, it is a fitting GAA comparison in the crowd.

It seems like no major sporting event can occur without the presence of a GAA jersey and long may it continue.

The GAA, it gets around.
