The Irish Independent brilliantly wins the (fictional) ‘Dual Headline Placement of the Day’ award

Sub-editors everywhere doff their hats...

And the award for the dual headline placement of the day goes to… *dramatic overly-long drum roll because the answer was already in the title of the article* … The Irish Independent.

Following on from yesterday’s doubly excellent news that Taoiseach Enda Kenny has called for a Referendum on Gay Marriage, and the confirmation that Martin O’Neill and Roy Keane are to become Ireland’s new “bad cop” and “bad, bad cop,” today’s double headline in The Irish Independent is surely a worthy winner of JOE’s hallowed Tweet of the Day title.

Spotted by Joe (great name) Donnelly of the Phantom Breakfast show with Joe and Keith, the placement of both news stories is perfectly executed on the paper’s front page. Sub-editors everywhere doff their hats…

Here at JOE we wish all civil partnerships, including Martin and Roy’s, the very best of luck.
