The top six players of 2012-13, according to the Professional Football Association, are…

So who will replace RVP as the PFA Player of the Year? Well it might be RVP again as the now Manchester United player is nominated again. This year’s list is along largely predictable lines, with the top scorer in the Premier League this year with 22 goals, Luis Suarez, also getting the nod

The other nominees are current favourite, and 2011 winner, Gareth Bale, Michael Carrick, Juan Mata and perhaps the most surprising name on the list, Eden Hazard. Perhaps kicking ball boys is worth a vote or two from your peers.

That means players who had good seasons like Michu, Santi Cazorla, Pablo Zabaleta, Leighton Baines and Christian Benteke fail to get onto the senior award list.

The Young Player of the Year award will be contested between Bale, Benteke, Hazard, Romelu Lukaku, Danny Welbeck and Jack Wilshere with Rafael perhaps the biggest name to miss out there.

Let the arguments commence…
