The Special son. Mourinho’s young lad signs for Fulham

Some would say no town is big enough for two Mourinhos, but Jose won’t be the only one on the soccer scene in London after his teenage son signed a deal with Fulham.

Some would say no town is big enough for two Mourinhos, but Jose won’t be the only one on the soccer scene in London after his teenage son signed a deal with Fulham.

According to Marca, Mourinho’s 14-year old boy Jose Mario, a goalkeeper, has joined the Cottagers after a successful month-long loan spell at Chelsea’s West London rivals.

Mourinho junior had played for the Real Madrid youth side, the Real Madrid Canillas, while his Dad was in charge at the Bernabeu but having followed Mourinho to London he has opted to join Fulham instead of the Blues, probably thinking he spends enough time in the auld fella’s company at home as it is.

Jose Mario Mourinho will be hoping for a better career on the playing pitch that the fairly forgettable one enjoyed by The Special One/Happy One himself, but Mourinho’s Dad played in goals for Portuguese sides Vitoria Setubal and Beleneses and also won one cap for Portugal.

Should Mourinho junior impress at Fulham and Mourinho senior remain in charge at Stamford Bridge for the foreseeable future there is a chance they could be reunited at one stage, but then again, the young fella might be wary of his Dad’s relationship with goalkeepers given everything that went on with Iker Casillas last season.

We’ll have no problem remembering the name in any case.
