There’s going to be at least 25 live Premier League games on the box in December (and New Year’s Day)

Happy Christmas, football fans.

Happy Christmas, football fans.

We don’t particularly like talking about the festive season until a couple a weeks before the big day itself, but Christmas came early for football fans today when Sky Sports and BT announced the schedule of live games that will be broadcast during the busiest time of the Premier League season.

Between the two major broadcasters, a whopping 25 live games will be shown between December 2 and New Year’s Day, when a large percentage of football fans will be ringing in 2015 by watching live footie from 12.45pm until the conclusion of the 5.30pm clash between Spurs and Chelsea at White Hart Lane.

Amongst the two dozen or so games Sky Sports and BT Sport subscribers can look forward to (see list in full below) are the meeting of old rivals Manchester United and Liverpool at Old Trafford on December 14, Liverpool’s clash with Arsenal at Anfield seven days later and the aforementioned game between London rivals Chelsea and Spurs on the first day of 2015.

As well as the 25 scheduled games on Sky Sports and BT, there will likely be even more Premier League action on Setanta Sports and one also has to bear in mind that the final round of the Champions League group stages take place in the second week of the final month of the year.

Best get that shopping in early folks, ‘cos there won’t be a whole lot of time to spare this Christmas.
