There’s top football action, some laughs from Republic of Telly, and the very saucy flick Showgirls, which is all about strippers.
Aston Villa V Sunderland, Sky Sports 1, 7:00pm
This looked to have relegation battle written all over it, but the arrival of charismatic manager Paolo Di Canio has Sunderland totally revitalised and looking like a whole new team. Aston Villa desperately need points to ensure their safety though, so this one should be a cracker, not forgetting of course that Gary Neville will dispense some more of his wisdom.
Republic of Telly, RTE Two, 10.30pm
Always good for a laugh of a Monday night, the folks at Republic of Telly will be back with sketches, gags, and the best of the wacky world of television to keep us sane as we look down the barrel of another long week.
Showgirls, Film 4, 11.25pm
The movie that made us reconsider what Jessie Spanno from Saved by the Bell (Elizabeth Berkeley) was all about, Showgirls is essentially a movie about strippers which would make for a very saucy Monday evening in. We’re presuming that we don’t really need to say anything more than that.
