James attempts the show’s most secretive and risky stunt to date, which involves an ailing seaside town and a great big monster, and also challenges his hapless sidekick Rory to run a whelk stall. A new type of table football is invented for England fans and an alarm ensures no cup of tea will ever be wasted again. Last in the series.
Sporting Pick: Chelsea vs. FC Basel, UTV, 7.45pm
FC Basel takes on Chelsea tonight, with kick-off 8.05pm. Matt Smith presents coverage of the semi-final first-leg contest from St Jakob-Park. The Swiss hosts are looking to eliminate a London club once again, having defeated Tottenham Hotspur on penalties in the quarter-finals after entertaining 2-2 draws in both legs. However, the Blues may represent an even sterner challenge, having won the Champions League last season. Their defence of that crown ended in the group stage, but they have recovered from that setback to reach the last four of this competition by overcoming Sparta Prague, Steaua Bucharest and Rubin Kazan.
Movie Pick: Land of the Lost, RTÉ Two, 9.30pm
An eccentric scientist sets out to prove his debunked theories on inter-dimensional travel by building a machine to travel to other universes. His experiment succeeds, and he and two friends are stranded in another world inhabited by dinosaurs and all manner of other strange creatures. It’s a great movie, especially when you’re feeling the influences – if you know what we mean. Comedy adventure, starring Will Ferrell, Anna Friel and Danny McBride.
