You think Ireland has bad weather? Check this stuff out. Plus Real v Dortmund and Men In Black.
Main Pick: The World’s Weirdest Weather, Channel 4, 9pm
An interesting doc on some of the world’s oddest bits of weather, focussing on fire this week. Yes, fire. Covering the more ‘normal’ stuff like lightning, it also looks at the phenomena of ‘firenados’, when a tornado combines with a wild fire. We’ll never complain about the rain again.
Sporting Pick: Real Madrid v Borussia Dortmund, TV3, 7.30pm
The Spanish side have a mountain to climb but would you bet against Jose? Okay, maybe we would in this case. A 3-0 win will do it for the home side but a goal by the marauding Germans, who got four last week, will make it all but impossible for Real. Madrid need to play like a reverse mullet, ‘all business at the back, party at the front’. Easier said than done. Should be a good watch anyway.
Movie Pick: Men In Black, Sky1, 9pm
Okay, we’ve all seen this a million times but it is still worth a watch. Now 16 years old, this film still stands up as a class bit of sci-fi hokum. With Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones in top form, alien invasion was never as much fun as it was in this flick.
