The story of William Wallace, and the film that launched a thousand pre-match team talks. After the slaughter of his father and brother, young Wallace is taken in by his uncle, who teaches him how to use his brawn and his brain and he uses those skills to great effect years later when he resolves to drive the English out of Scotland. Historical epic directed by and starring Mel Gibson, also with Patrick McGoohan, the lovely Sophie Marceau and also lovely Catherine McCormack.
Sporting (Movie) Pick: Studs, Setanta Ireland, 7.30pm
A larger-than-life football manager offers his services to a struggling Sunday league club, and his unconventional tactics drive the team forward in to an unprecedented winning streak and a chance at the cup. Like almost every Irish film, it stars Brendan Gleeson, while Shaun Elebert, David Herlihy and Gleeson Jnr, Domhnall, are also on hand.

A burnt-out cop is given the task of escorting a criminal to court to testify against a group of corrupt policemen - but what seems to be a routine assignment fast turns into a deadly game of cat and mouse as the crooked officers try to stop them reaching the courthouse alive. Thriller starring Bruce Willis, Mos Def, David Morse, Jenna Stern and Casey Sander.
