Some of this morning’s rumours sound just a little fanciful to say the least, but hey, isn’t that what silly season is all about?

It will be nigh on impossible for Liverpool to fill the void left by Luis Suarez if the Uruguayan decides to bid farewell to Anfield in the summer; after all, how can you possibly replace a controversial but hugely talented, diminutive but very crafty South American like the current Reds number seven? Why, by signing another controversial but hugely talented, diminutive but very crafty South American, of course.

According to the Daily Mirror, Liverpool are thought to be considering a move for none other than Carlos Tevez, who has only a year to run on his contract with Manchester City and could be available for as little as £8million as a result.

Tevez is on huge money at Man City but he could be left looking on the sidelines next season amid a fairly big squad overhaul at Eastlands, with Fernandinho and Jesus Navas having already joined the City revolution ahead of next season.

Equally ambitious in terms of moves between Premier League clubs would be a move to Arsenal from Manchester United for Wayne Rooney and while the Red Devils mightn’t be keen to sell to a Premier League rival, the Gunners won’t be found wanting when it comes to stumping up the cash if Ivan Gazidis to be believed.

A number of papers are reporting that Ivan the Terrible has been bigging up Arsenal’s financial muscle and claims that they can compete with some of the top clubs in Europe in terms of signing the top players, although whether Rooney will be one of those remains to be seen.

The Gunners, like United, have also been linked with Marouane Fellaini, with The Times claiming that they have now moved ahead of both United and Chelsea in the queue to sign the Belgian, which will disappoint Blues fans hoping to see two of the most voluminous hairstyles at Stamford Bridge next season.

The Guardian, however, claim that Everton are going to do their level best to hang on to both Fellaini and Leighton Baines, who was a long-term target of United’s even before David Moyes took over the hotseat at Old Trafford.

Whatever about Baines, it appears as if United will have at least one new full-back next season in the shape of Uruguayan Guillermo Varela, who is on the verge of a move to Old Trafford according to the Daily Mirror.

Returning to Chelsea, with the Special One back in tow one can expect to see a few big names come through the door at Stamford Bridge and while speculation linking Hulk with a move to West London is nothing new, The Daily Mail are claiming that they are stepping up their efforts to sign Napoli’s Edinson Cavani, who is pretty highly coveted right now.

With Cavani set to leave Naples, former Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez is set to hijack the Reds’ plans to bring in Jose Callejon from Real Madrid according to TalkSport, who also claim that Brendan Rodgers has his eyes on Nacer Chadli, a Belgian winger on the books of FC Twente, although they might have a fight on their hands with Tottenham also sniffing around the 23-year old with intent.
