When Alex Ferguson announced that Wayne Rooney said he wanted to leave the club, we tried to think of what clubs he could join. Well The Sun didn’t think too hard at all.

There has been a lot of speculation to where Wazza could end up, with Arsenal or PSG seeming the most plausible destinations. The Sun has gone for a real scoop today with suggestions that Real Madrid and Barcelona are in a £25 million tug-o’-war for the striker. Yes, arguably two of the biggest clubs in the world are in the hunt, especially surprising since Barca have splashed out on some Brazilian lad called Neymar.

Another Arsenal target appears to be Marouane Fellaini. The Daily Mail say that a £22 million move is on the cards and that he is looking for £100,000 a week at the Emirates. Notorious penny-pinchers when it comes to contracts, we would be inclined to think the board should accept the demands on the condition he never gets his hair cut. And keeps up his impressive performances. Johan Djorou is a target for Hamburg according to The Sun, while The Guardian have linked the defender to Hamburg.

In a real turn of events, Arsene Wenger is thought to be looking to drop a few million on a French teenager. As is his wont, Wenger has been keeping eyes on a talented French youngster, with Le Havre left-back Benjamin Mendy on the radar. The Daily Mail says the Gunners are willing to pay £2.5 million but the club want double that for the 18 year-old.

Speaking of demanding agents, it looks like Victor Wanyama’s comes from the Nicolas Anelka’s school of thought. He had his siblings negotiate his contracts and were charged with putting financial gain ahead of his football – hardly the first – but it seems like the Celtic man’s agents are demanding up to £1 million for any possible move away from Parkhead.

The Daily Star believes Paul Lambert is ready to cough up £4 million for QPR’s Stephane M’bia and remember Scott Carson? He is still in Turkey with Bursaspor, but a number of today’s papers  believe that Owen Coyle is willing to pay £400,000 for his services. From Turkey to the Championship for Scotty boy.
