While the FA considers launching an investigation into racist chanting by West Ham fans towards their Spurs counterparts, Sam Allardyce has claimed not to have heard anything.

The Hammers boss claimed he was so consumed by the game that he did not hear any of the alleged anti-Semitic abuse. The away supporters were heard chanting ‘Viva Lazio’ after the Italian club’s abuse of the Spurs supporters during the Europa League tie last week while hissing sounds were also clearly audible, in reference to gas noises.

Big Sam has refused to get involved and RTE’s Hugh Cahill has offered an entirely plausible reason this morning why the manager has claimed he did not hear any of the inappropriate behaviour of his supporters.

His brashness and style of football has alienated many football supporters, including at times his own, and we are sure many people would agree with the rugby commentator’s sentiments.
