Twitter reaction to Trap's exit is as predictable as his tactics
Giovanni Trapattoni’s five year reign as Ireland manager came to an end today and there won’t be too many tears shed tonight given the reaction to the FAI’s decision.
As Liam Brady is at pains to point out in the RTE studio, he did lead us to the European Championships and within a whisker of the World Cup in South Africa, so for all the negativity surrounding the Italian of late, it is easy to forget what we have achieved.
However since that play-off victory over Estonia it has been steadily downhill with results and the performances and defensive strategy employed by Trap have come under fire. Back-to-back defeats against Sweden and Austria ultimately sealed his fate and here is sample of the reaction.
As we said, not too many unhappy Irish supporters out there.
Legend of the the game and took Irish football to the next level, thanks for everything Mr Trapattoni.

To be fair to Trapattoni, he seems to have taken the decision well... pic.twitter.com/gsH6c0XY34
